What is my background?

From 1987-2000 I worked in University Libraries, most recently as Customer Services Manager at the University of Waikato Library and prior to that as Tamaki Campus Librarian at the University of Auckland. Since starting The Information Workshop in 2000, I have worked closely with a range of libraries and library educators. I have been heavily involved in LIANZA Information Literacy activities since 1996. I hold a BA (Auck) and a DipLibr (Vic) and am actively undertaking additional professional training.

Why did I start The Information Workshop?

As a busy Library Manager, I often wished I had someone on call who understood the industry and the political context I worked in. Someone who could help me by :

  • preparing background material on new issues
  • spending quality time with staff in need of mentoring
  • finding out what my staff really thought about issues
  • providing the sort of quality training that fitted with my high customer service values.
The Information Workshop has been established to offer you these services.
